N00b, newb, newbie, newby, noob, nub, what ever.
When I find the guy who invented the word “noob”, I’m going to make him pull his pants up really really high so that his nuts are showing like a camel toe. Then I’m going to make him point to them and say “Here they are”, just for effect. He is then going to squat down. I’m going to strap on my size 12 steel toed boats, take 4 steps back, and one to the right like I’m getting ready to kick a 40 yard field goal. And then, with no remorse or mercy I am going to kick that mother fucker so hard in the balls he will puke sperm for a fucking month.
What is the purpose of this word? Wikipedia defines it as someone who is new to something. Well wouldn’t that describe everyone at one point or another? I just don’t understand the point of making fun of someone because they are new at something. To me instead of saying “Noob”, people should just say “Yes, I am a giant asshole”. Is it Ok these days to be an asshole? I mean what comes after being new at something, do you then start making fun of people for being old at something? “Oh you have been doing this for 30 years, you are an old.”
Maybe it’s just me. I play a lot of Warcraft 3, and here recently I have been playing Halo 2 again. Maybe this is the point where I say, “Ok, I’m getting a little old to be playing these games. I don’t understand why these people are saying the word noob, maybe it’s just time to bow out”. I don’t know, could be.
The internet and online life has given us some cool terms over the years. For example; hacker. Hacker is a word that people can use and feel ok about it. Noob is not. I hope that someday society looks back on the word noob, and says “What the fuck were we thinking coming up with that word?”
