I find myself completely bored, so I thought I would write a post to describe what’s been happening.
My watch decided to quit working today, so it has been 9:30 all day. I guess I never really noticed how much I actually look at my watch until it stopped working. I really hope I can save this watch. I really like it. It’s a big ass diesel watch. I call it the nose breaker because if you ever gave anybody the Bruce Lee spinning back fist with it, it would surely shatter their nose.
My dad has been at my house for the last two days. He is helping me put in a new electrical service. I have been trying to put in a new furnace for a month or two now, but things just keep coming up. This thing that came up was a biggy though. I thought that I had a 100 amp service, which would support a new furnace. However, it turns out that I have a 60 amp service. A 60 amp service is pretty much unheard of anymore. Most panels in a house have 60 amp breakers in them. Just out of curiosity I went outside and put my meter on the main yesterday to see how many amps I was pulling. With the dryer, one air conditioner, a majority of the light, and various other things on I was pulling 90 amps. Anyway, my dad was over yesterday and we got the riser and the meter base put in. He is there right now, while I am at work, transferring things over to the new panel. I’m hoping it will be done by the end of this week so I can start with the furnace. September and October can get a little nippy at times, especially without a furnace.
I have been watching digg today with great interest. It seems that people are starting to catch on to the fact that a group of 10-20 users pretty much control all the content on digg. You can read about the uprising here and here. That is unless the articles have already been taken down by the communist digg government.
I spent the majority of my day at work writing some reports. A month or two ago I ordered some software called Active Reports, and it finally came in a few days ago. So a lot of my time lately has been spent converting all my old Crystal reports, Access reports, and various other reports over to Active Reports. It’s actually pretty amazing how I can turn raw data from a table into a nice shiny meaningful report.
I think I’m close to kicking this cold that I have. I spent all last week sick. I actually took a sick day Thursday, which is something I haven’t done in a long time. I have the typical “green” disease where green slime comes out of your nose, mouth, lungs, possibly even ears. I get it about once a year, and it takes a full two weeks for the congestion and everything to clear. It has made me seriously consider the option of quitting smoking again. See the smoke that I am inhaling seems to stick and mix with the green slime in my lungs, which makes the nastiest tasting substance known to man.
I’m trying to think of things that I have coming up, but I’m coming up with very few. I was thinking there was something big I was suppposed to do this weekend, but I can’t think of what it is? I know my Dad’s birthday is Saturday, but beyond that I don’t know. I would kind of like to do nothing. I can’t think of the last time I had no plans and nothing to do on a weekend.
I’ll leave you with the question of the day. When you are trying to describe something that someone once did, do you say “use to” or “used to”. I can’t seem to figure that out.

I would say “used to”.
I would say “use to”. I think used states that you actually used something.
You have a party to attend on Saturday, that is what you are forgetting. Maplefest.
