Every year it seems that there is a day where you can stand outside and say “fall is here”. Yesterday that happened to me. It had pretty much rained all day and I walked outside and thought “hmm it’s a little cool out here”. Then, I saw the leaves. There wasn’t many of the little yellow half dead things laying on the ground but enough to say that fall is here.
At this point I would like to reflect on some of the fun times that I have had this summer:
Drinking
Man oh man did I do a lot of drinking this summer. For the first part of the summer it seems like every weekend we were taking down at least 2 thirty packs playing beer pong. During the week we would tone it down and only drink one while sitting out on the front porch watching stupid things happen.
Parties
Had a few parties this year. The most memorable one was the welcome home christian / beer pong tournament. I didn’t see much of it, as I was passed out before dark but it was a good time.
Swimming
I wouldn’t say that I went swimming a lot this year, but more than normal. Derrick, Brehmer and I made a few trips out to Lances Pit. There is a great video of that in a previous post.
Lake House
This is the first summer that my parents lake house was up and kicking. Had some pretty fun times up there. Probably the most memorable was 4th of July weekend. That’s when me and Brehmer stayed up there partying with my parents, while Derrick and Kyla left to do “other things”
Softball
I played a full season of softball this year. My season got cut a little short last year due to a shift change at work. Anyway, I started out strong this year, but I’m not finishing to well. I found that I tend to play better if I drink about 5 beers before hand. I don’t know if I actually play better or if I just care less about how good I play.
Wedding
Last but not least, I got married this summer. Looking back it went so quick it’s hard to even remember what happened. It seemed like the time leading up to it was so long, but here I am 4 months later, all married and domesticated. The wedding was great. I can’t say that anything went wrong. Nobody tripped or passed out. Although if I had to pick one thing that could have went a little better it would be the heat. There is nothing quite like being in a double black tux in the middle of a hot day in June. After the wedding and the reception we got to the real fun part of the trip. We spent a week in Cancun Mexico. Nothing but laying on the beach, relaxing, and sipping on mixed drinks for 6 solid days.
